Final Blog Post

  After taking this class I’ve reflected on how important the media has and will always be. Media, in any form, is how people communicate! Throughout the 20 th century there have been many shifts in technological developments including the shift from terrestrial television to satellite television to the arrival of the Internet and mobile telephony. It has been fascinating to see how these technologies have connected p eople   transnationally and  governments have   sought to gain control over mass media.   There is power in the media and that is why everybody, individuals and government entities, is constantly trying to put their voice out there. Journalism contributes positively to collective life, but censorship does not. Blog Post #8: Regulation of Religious Expression

     One argument in favor of regulati ng religious expressio n: shutting down people who infringe on other people’s rights (I.e., religio us beliefs that try to eliminate the right to have an abortion or criticize the LGBTQ+ community , etc. ).     Link to Photo   I cannot think of another argument that would support the general public. However, if you are a part of a popular, state recognized religion you might feel empowered that your beliefs are the o nes being circulated in media . Another argument for regulating religious expression   would   be from the perspective o f the government. Many states  create their laws and principles off religious ideologies so having a public who believes in the same religion might create the illusion that there will be less disobedience and chaos.
